How to Plan a 3 Day Trip to Kuala Lumpur

Malaysia is a splendid choice for a vacation, with a variety of islands with their rich diversity of fauna, flora and stunning beaches. Amidst all of this beauty, lies several cities that have undergone major urban and infrastructural development. From this list of cities, the most striking and popular is the Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia.

With so many amenities spread across the city for visitors, it is impossible to fully indulge in the city in just one day. Give yourself a few days at least to enjoy the spectrum on delights the city has to offer visitors!

The Famous Batu Caves Temple

Featured prominently in many of the tourism campaigns run by the Malaysian Government, the Batu Caves Temple is the site of many caves that were formed a mindboggling millions of years ago. It is now considered to a site for pilgrimages for many people of the Hindu faith.

One of the key attractions at the Batu Caves Temple is the 140 feet tall statue of Lord Murugan to whom the temple is dedicated to. Incidentally, this statue is also the tallest in the world in the likeness of Lord Murugan. Be prepared to get some steps in during your visit as you will have to hike up exactly 272 steps to reach the entrance of the caves.

Along the way, you will be able to enjoy the rapidly rising view of the surrounding landscape as well as plenty of local monkeys who are hoping to get a few snacks out of you.

When you have entered the caves, you will be greeted by the various shrines that lie within. If you are the adventurous type then you can also opt to participate in abseiling with the help of a local tour company!

The Petronas Towers

There is no structure more emblematic of Kuala Lumpur and even Malaysia as a whole than the Petronas Towers. They are also referred to as the Petronas Twin Towers and were, from 1998 to 2004, considered to be the tallest buildings in the world!

Many people enjoy being able to visit the Skybridge of the towers or they will spend a day shopping at the Suria KLCC located at the base of the towers. Due to the vast popularity of the 86th floor as a tourist attraction, there is a limited number of tickets available so it is advisable to always try booking in advance. However, it will be difficult to find a better observation deck anywhere else in Kuala Lumpur.

As always, one of the best souvenirs when visiting the Petronas Towers is a quick photo in front of the iconic towers from its northwest side or the KLCC Park.

Enjoy drinks at sunset

Nothing compares to spending a long day exploring a new city, get refreshed up at your accommodation and then heading out for some well-deserved drinks as the sun sets around you. If you are staying at a serviced apartment in KL such as the PARKROYAL Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur you will be close to many such watering holes.

There are a variety of rooftop bars that you can select from, all with their unique characteristics. For example, the Heli Lounge stands out as a real helicopter landing pad that has been converted into a bar and lounge. It provides a perfect 360-degree view of the surrounding buildings such as the KL Tower as well as the Petronas Tower.

It is recommended to arrive by at least 5 pm to be able to enter the helipad and grab yourself a table. If you are arriving past 9 pm then expect to have to adhere to their set dress codes!
